| Creating Characters Music, Dance,Drama and Writing Class for 10 to 14 year old girls Through drama, dance, music, improv and creative writing, the students in this class will create an original piece to be shared at the end of the 10 week session. An equally important element of this class is the building of self-esteem and confidence both in themselves and in their fellow students. The girls in this class will be introduced to female performers and writers who created or are creating incredible legacies - women like Gilda Radner, Lucille Ball, Carol Burnett, Lily Tomlin, Tina Fey - and who were trailblazers in the creative world. As we learn about these strong female characters and learn some of the monologues, songs and dramatic pieces they performed, the girls will be encouraged to find their own voices. Through improvisation and writing exercises, the girls will create an original piece that they will perform at the end of the 10 week session.
