Can you teach a toddler to cha-cha-cha??  Maybe not a cha-cha-cha that you
and I would recognize but, as a parent, you won't be surprised by how naturally
and instinctively very young children move to music.

"Music truly is our first language."
... Laurie Berkner, musical artist and mom!

This class is all about encouraging the innate rhythm and the natural love of
music and movement that your child demonstrates whenever they hear music.

We will introduce them to music that they might not otherwise get to hear - cha-
cha, salsa, mambo, quickstep, argentine tango, jive!   The music is the
inspiration for the class.  It is impossible NOT to dance when you hear great
Latin music and we've found some fantastic music!!

We will discover the rhythms of latin music with our "huevitos" (egg shakers).
Some of our students call this their "cha cha class".

Children are great mimics and it is a wonderful sight to see a two year old salsa.
Parents and caregivers also pick up some great moves!

To continue the Latin flavor, we will be introducing the children to a second
language ... Spanish!  This is not a Spanish immersion class and is not intended
to be.

Every class will open with circle time where the children will become familiar with
a set of Spanish songs, stories and games.  There will be some old favorites but
always with a Latin twist!

We will introduce the Spanish language by learning colors, numbers, days,
animals and phrases in Spanish.  We are thrilled to hear from many parents that
their child has started counting in Spanish when they climb stairs or in the
bathtub.  What is wonderful about this is that the children have done it without
prompting.

There will be parachute time where we will continue to learn Spanish songs and
practise our colors in Spanish.

We will start to slow things down with story time reading the Spanish versions of
children's favorites such as Brown Bear, Brown Bear ("Oso Pardo, Oso Pardo")
and singing songs such as "Brilla Brilla Estrellita" (Twinkle Twinkle Little Star)
and "Adios Amigos" (Goodbye Friends).  We end every class singing and
dancing to "We Did It! - Lo Hicimos!) from Dora the Explorer.

Parent Testimonial:

"I’m amazed by how much my 2-year old daughter has learned from
Bailemos 1,2,3. I originally signed her up because the class sounded like
a change of pace from her usual routine, but I really did not expect her
to learn Spanish. After the first class, she demonstrated her new
dance moves. And a few classes later, she was able to count in Spanish.

We’re both so thrilled with what she’s learned that it’s become
incorporated into our daily routine – including salsa dancing before dinner
and counting in Spanish when she’s having her hair washed.”
